Faux leather leggings

It seems like faux leather leggings are such a thing right now.

What is a good brand? I’m searching for a great style.

I notice many of them squeak when you walk. What are girls here doing to fix the squeaking?

Also, I read you can treat them to be even shinier. Is that true?

  • Dear Cindy, I believe you might be thinking more of latex (though I would ask mistress Elle as she is probably the expert on that 😂). Latex when it first comes from the factory or whatever is actually quite dull and then you have to spray it with something. But your average faux leather leggings or stuff you might see in h&m or Zara doesn’t squeak and doesn’t need any further treatment to maintain its shine.

  • Yes I can confirm that we are indeed experts on latex (a material that somewhat loses its novelty when you have to wear it for longer than 5 minutes.)Latex clothing comes from the factory with a matte or slightly powdery finish, as manufacturers dust it with talc or cornstarch to prevent sticking. To achieve the signature glossy, wet-look shine, you gotta apply a silicone-based polish/spray called Vivishin which is specifically designed to coat the surface and enhance its reflective properties. This process must be repeated periodically, as the shine fades with wear. In contrast, mass-market brands like Zara and H&M sell ultra-shiny leggings and trousers made from polyurethane (PU)-coated fabrics, PVC, or wet-look spandex, which replicate latex’s glossy appearance without requiring additional treatment, so you can actually wear them to work or going out and stuff and not have to be carrying around a bottle of spray with you 😉
